Advantages
Why operators choose the VMHV180K3 ESS
Less diesel
Solar and battery carry the load most of the time; the generator starts only when needed.
Lower maintenance
Fewer engine hours mean longer service intervals and lower maintenance cost.
Quiet nights
Battery-only operation at low load keeps the site quiet near camps and residents.
Stack power when you need it
Solar, battery and generator run in parallel for peak loads, and the battery capacity can be expanded.
Off-grid, grid-tied or parallel
The VMHV180K3 switches between three operating modes: off-grid on battery and solar, grid-tied, or in parallel with its 100 kVA Perkins generator to stack power for heavy loads. Its 241 kWh high-voltage LiFePO4 battery and 62.5 kW solar input let large sites run long hours on stored and solar energy, with the generator as backup.
Applications
Where it is used
- Mining sites and camps
- Large construction projects
- Island and village microgrids
- Rental fleets
- Industrial backup power
FAQ
FAQ
Which operating modes does the VMHV180K3 support?
It runs off-grid on battery and solar, grid-tied, or in parallel with its 100 kVA Perkins generator to stack power for heavy loads. The system is rated at 180 kW with a three-phase 4-wire 400/230 V, 50 Hz output.
How is it different from the VMHV160K3?
The VMHV180K3 uses a high-voltage battery (768 V, up to 241 kWh), a 125 kVA PCS and a 62.5 kW solar DC/DC input, and can work grid-tied as well as off-grid.
How long can it run without starting the generator?
With the full 241 kWh, the battery supplies about 4.8 hours at a steady 50 kW or about 9.6 hours at 25 kW, before losses. Up to 62.5 kW of solar input over 4 MPPT channels recharges the battery during the day.
Can it work with my existing generator?
Yes. Besides its own 100 kVA Perkins generator, the VMHV180K3 can be paired with the customer's own diesel generator in expansion mode, so you can reuse equipment already on site.
What are the generator and monitoring specifications?
The generator uses a Perkins 1104C-44TAG2 engine at 1500 rpm with a Stamford UCI274C alternator, liquid cooling and a 680 L fuel tank, at 75 dB(A) at 7 m. It starts only when needed, and a 4G router allows remote monitoring.
How is the VMHV180K3 shipped, and what are the lead time and payment terms?
The unit measures 3,300 × 2,180 × 2,250 mm and weighs 5.7 t; 1 fits in a 20 ft container and 3 in a 40 ft container. Production takes 15–45 working days depending on model and quantity, with a 30 % deposit and the balance before shipment, FOB or CIF.
