Is the Skid-L towable?
No. The Skid-L is skid-mounted and moved by forklift or crane, which lets it fit where a trailer cannot, such as crowded sites, depots and car parks. For a towable unit, see our VTS solar lighting trailers.
How long can the lights run on a full battery?
The four LED lights draw 240 W in total (4 × 60 W). As an example, the 11 kWh lithium battery could run them for about 45 hours from a full charge, before system losses.
How is the battery recharged?
Three 340 W solar panels charge the 24 V DC battery through a Victron MPPT controller. The Skid-L also has an AC charger, so the battery can be topped up from mains or a generator after long cloudy periods.
What site conditions can the Skid-L handle?
The Skid-L operates from -35 to 60 °C. Its 180 lm/W LED lights are IP65, the unit is rated for winds up to 100 km/h, and four manual stabilizers keep it steady once the electric mast is raised to 20–30 ft.
How is the Skid-L shipped, and what warranty does it carry?
6 units fit in a 20 ft container and 14 in a 40 ft container. Folded, the unit measures 1,590 × 1,130 × 2,285 mm and weighs 1,300 kg. The Skid-L carries a 2-year warranty.
