How the estimate works

A diesel generator on a typical site load burns roughly 0.15 litres per kVA of rated power per running hour when it runs at about half load. The calculator multiplies this by your running hours and diesel price to estimate the yearly fuel bill.

A hybrid system lets solar and battery carry part of the load, so the generator runs only for the remaining hours. The share you choose is the part of running hours covered without the engine.
